How to Stop Biting and Start Growing Your Nails!!

Hey guys!!!

Firstly apologies, my blog posts are few and far between right now!! I'm so busy and it seems to be dark all the time (depressing)

So a lot of people have been asking me nail related questions particularly on how I stopped biting my nails.

I was a HORRENDOUS nail biter as you can see in this picture!

Disgusting right???

It takes a LOT to stop biting your nails, I don't want to ramble on and write loads so I am going to link you to my Youtube video where I describe how and why I stopped biting, and how I got my nails healthy.

Hope you like it guys, and I really hope it helps you too :)

Muchos Love

Flamingo Nails!

Hey guys!! Hope you’re all great, sorry it has been a while since my last post, been a busy one recently!!

So not long ago I tried out flamingo nails. I had literally so many comments on these!! I guess its because they’re bright and eye catching....

So I started with a base colour of Essie – Bikini So Teeny, a gorgeous blue that I have been using a lot recently as its soooo pretty. Then I used a dark pink for the main body and neck of the flamingo, then a light pink, black and white for the dealing.
I have put a full video tutorial of this look on my Youtube channel. You can see the video here.

Hope you like it guys, don’t forget to tweet me a pic if you give it a go!!

Nails for Movember!!

Ok, ok, so I know I'm a little early but I couldn't resist some moustache nails!!

Originally I was just going to do moustaches on my first and third finger and dots on the rest. Then I thought it looked a little plain so I added a top hat!!

I used Barry M - Peach Melba for the base colour, and then I used a dotting tool, a toothpick and a bit of patience.... Ok a lot of patience, to do the details. This was easier to do than I thought and it went right first time :)

I posted these on Instagram (@happyamz) and it got a great response.

Have you done Movember nails? Tweet me your pics if you do!!

Super-Colour Fabu Lipstick!!!

So this is another post on another AWESOME Soap and Glory Product!!!

This is a lipstick from their make up range - their Super Colour Fabu Lipsticks (yes that's actually what's written on the packaging!)

I bought mine in the colour Pom Pom - a deep wine red which is PERFECT for Autumn!

I have got to say, big thumbs up to S&G again, this product is fantastic!

For a start the packaging is excellent as usual; and another great quirky name. There is even the staple S&G logo stamped into the lipstick. They really have paid attention to detail!
The formulation is gorgeous! It's a very creamy lipstick and lasts really well on the lips without cracking.

You can see the colour on my lips in my most recent YouTube video here.

This lipstick is £9

Overall I am a huge fan! Check it out in your local Boots!

New Love: Nail Stamping!

Like most people I have seen all the rage about Konad and the designs you can create with it. However at £6 per plate I didn't really want to start buying them.
So then I stumbled across Bundle Monster, who make basically the exact same thing!!
I bought their 21pc kit and bought a Konad stamper from eBay. You get 21 plates for just £14.99 which is so cheap!! These are available in America as well as UK and you can buy them here.

I for one am REALLY impressed with the quality of these plates. For the price I'd definitely recommend them!

Here are a couple of designs I've created so far....

Lips using stamp plate BM02

Chains using stamp plate BM12

I have had a lot of fun trying these out and I strongly recommend them to anyone who wants to give stamping a go!

Nails the Lads will enjoy!

So obviously I do my nails a lot, it's something I really enjoy. So here's a couple of designs that the boys in your life might like.
Both of these were just taken from the logos of these companies. They were done with a fine detailing brush and a steady hand. No genius trick to doing it, just a lot of patience :)

Hope you like them boys and girls!!! If you do give any of my designs ago don't forget to tweet me a picture of tag me in any instagram photos :)

Review: Soap and Glory - The Fab Pore

So I was browsing around Boots as you do and noticed that Soap and Glory was on 3 for 2. Now I'm a lover of Soap and Glory as it is so I thought I would try a few more of their products, one of which was The Fab Pore.

As you can see it is a face mask. It's a white creamy consistency with green micro beads. You put it on as a thin mask and rub it in until the beads are gone, then you leave it for 5-15 minutes depending on how long you've got for a pamper I guess..... Or how much of a deep clean you want. I do this once a week for fifteen minutes - usually on a Sunday when I'm having a lazy day (not that that's important).

So it claims to clear out and close up your pores and WOWWWW it does. I suffer with massive pores on my cheeks (which are unpleasant to say the least). So I convinced my friend to let me put it on him as he had quite open pores so I could photograph the results. Now I used my iPhone 4 which OBVIOUSLY wouldn't be a photographers choice. But even with a poor quality camera, the results are undeniable.

I've got to say, this is the pore minimiser I've been looking for!!! In addition the effects last for a few days which is just brilliant. All pore minimisers I've tried in the past wear off pretty damn quick.
I will absolutely one million percent be repurchasing this wonder product, and just to add to its fabulousness it's only £8!!!

Massive thank you to Soap and Glory for this, you once again have amazed me!

Studded and Floral Nails!!

So this is something I tried as a bit of a twist on the normal floral nail art.... and I've gotta say I absolutely love it. I had so many comments on this!

So whilst this looks lush it is a tad impractical - I kept pulling the studs off but that may be because I'm quite hands on.

I made a video tutorial on these with a list of all the products which you can check out here.

Hope you like it!!

Passion for Fashion

Hey guys, hope you're all super. I have got a competition entry to share with y'all today. So Money Supermarket are holding a "Passion for Fashion" competition which you can read all about here.

The basic idea is that you create five different outfits all under £200 in five different categories. Party, casual, outdoor, first date and office wear. They then pick their favourites in each of the categories and that blogger gets to win the money to spend on that outfit!!! Amazing, aye?

So here are my entries, and all the links will be under the pictures. Hope you like it!!!

Dress//Shoes//Necklace//Bag//Nails

A party outfit will ALWAYS be my favourite outfit. There's nothing like getting glammed up to make any girl feel like a million dollars. So when I party I go all out on the outfit!! I kept it to black and white in colour to allow for glitz elsewhere. From nails to shoes this outfit stands out as a real party time outfit. The dress is a real figure hugging shape and I'm sure it would flatter just about everyone. The shoes to me are drool worthy. Diamante, platforms and huge heels sum up everything I love! I went with minimal and simple jewellery because with shoes and a dress that make such a statement what more could you need.
Now I know some people may think this is too sparkly, but to me, a party is an excuse to really go glamourous and wear something to make you stand out. After all, life is too short to blend in!

Sweater//Leggings//Shoes//Bag//Rings

So to me when I think of casual I think of comfortable! I am a real lover of Topshop's slouchy knits so this was a must in this outfit for me. Bright coral just adds a pop of colour! Vans are probably my ultimate comfort shoe so when I think of casual they are the only shoe of choice. And like most girls, leggings are a real easy pull on and go option to match virtually anything! I decided to keep it simple here and just stick to three plain band rings just to add a bit of something without overloading on jewellery.

Top//Trousers//Wellies//Coat//Snood

Now I am a real outdoor girl at heart..... An Autumn/Winter outdoorsy day for me just screams,
"Who says wellies can't be stylish?!"
With all the best intentions we all know deep down if you're really having an outdoor expedition there is going to be mud and probably lots of it. So save ruining your Uggs and don some half length hunters. Practical but not as hefty as the traditional knee length wellies. Teamed with comfy basics like this Topshop long sleeve tee and some lovely Autumnal colour trousers I love this simple but stylish look. And you can't forget a coat and chunky snood for warmth :)

Blouse//Jeans//Wedges//Jacket//Lipstick//Bag//Bangles

So on a first date I'm sure the aim is to look effortlessly amazing!! You want that ability to look like you've not gone way over the top but still made an effort to impress. So the khaki jeans and black jacket toughen up the outfit a bit whilst the girly pink blouse and bag keep it feminine. To me heels are an absolute must on a date so I went with wedges to keep it comfy, you don't want to be worrying about making an embarrassing stumble! The gold bangles match the gold collar tips on the blouse and just add a bit of an eye catching feature to the outfit.

Blouse//Skirt//Choker//Shoes//Bag//Glasses

It may not be every girl's cup of tea but I LOVE shopping for office clothes. I'm not sure why, it may be because I'm a bit of a tom boy deep down, so an excuse to look ultra chic in the office is a massive win for me.
So whilst work is normally something that fills people with dread, I like office outfits to have a bit of colour to make sure it brightens up your day!! I go with classic styles like a black bag and T-Bar shoes (which are probably my favourite style shoe) and then a peach shirt to brighten it up a bit. I keep the jewellery really simple and chic with a choker necklace and I can't forget the glasses as I'm blind as a bat without them!

Wish me Luck!

Juicy Couture 'Luxe Rocks' Bracelet

So I have been looking for a chunky silver chain link bracelet for a ridiculously long time. We are talking months. Everyone I found was either tacky and cheap looking, or in the hundreds of £££.

So when I stumbled across Juicy Couture's 'Luxe Rocks' range I pretty much did a dance at my computer. It is perfect!!! What's more they sold it in gold, silver and rose gold!!

I was really indecisive over silver or rose gold but I thought I should stick to what I've wanted for the longest time! And here it is.....

As you can see...... a beauty!!! It has one diamante link which is just gorgeous and a toggle closure with Juicy Couture engraved and some small crowns...

I am pretty much unhealthily obsessed with this bit of jewellery and I had to share it!! The detailing is incredible and you can tell the quality by the weight of it.

The one and ONLY downfall for this product (for me anyway) is that I could only get it from the states which meant $35 postage fee. I can't really grumble though because the bracelet itself is so worth it!!! Now I just have to decide if I'm going to fork out for the rose gold one too!! It's tempting.

It is a little pricey at $78 but I guess its the fact the shipping cost so much that is a bit poo if you're in the UK. But hey ho. For the incredible quality it is most certainly worth that!!!

You can view and buy the bracelet here.

And I know that for me this is going to be an absolute staple jewellery item.....

What jewellery have you been lusting after recently??

Studded Nails!

So here is some nail art I have been absolutely obsessing over recently and it is studded and leopard print nails!!!

I just cannot get enough of how sophisticated these look!!! So I started with two coats of white polish and when dry I used Rimmel's Pro Matte Top Coat to give a great finish.

I then used both square and round studs for decoration, all of which I purchased here.

For the leopard effect I used splurges of gold nail polish with random black lines to make a leopard effect.

I hope you like this guys, I'm going to be wearing it a lot and mixing it up with other colours!! Tweet me or send me any pictures if you try it!

Chanel Nail Art!!

Hey everyone!! I thought I'd share with you my nails today.
So I was a bit bored and decided to give Chanel themed nails a go..... And I absolutely love the outcome!!! I posted them on my instagram and twitter (both @happyamz) and they were pretty popular!!!

So to achieve this I painted my nails with Barry M Black nail polish and I used Rimmel Pro Matte Top Coat to matte them. I then used a toothpick dipped in gold polish (I went with Barry M Foil Effects) and experimented!! I thought the squares looked like studs so decided that was the best option!!

I'm considering posting a full tutorial on these.

Let me know what you think! And tweet me any pics if you give it a go!

Hello!! And Nails of the Day

So I've been making YouTube videos for about 6 months and it's become quite the addiction, you can check out my channel here... Along with blog reading. So I thought I would venture into blog land as well :)

I've just come back from Spain where I spent 7 relaxing days just attempting to get a tan.... It Worked!!

...and thought for my first post you can all see the nails I've been laaaaving this week.
This is the Models Own Hedkandi range in Beach Party. I am literally in love with this colour it is the brightest most neon orange ever - I get so many comments when I wear this out.

Also in this picture this is the EIGTH day of wear and as you can see.... no chipping!!!! Just so you all know I do always wear a base coat under any nail polish to try and look after them but even so 8 days without chipping is pretty impressive!!!

So Models Own are very much in my good books right now especially with their Hedkandi range!!

Have you got any of the Hedkandi range? Let me know how you find it if you have!!
